Updates! Hello 2018 + Life in Brazil as Digital Nomads

We’ve been busy these first few months of 2018 with plenty still in the works…

We (sadly) left Thailand in January and headed off to Bali where we spent two weeks exploring Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, and Bedugal. I still haven’t edited the footage we shot in Bali but soon I’ll make a video and write up our favorite experiences and tips! Plus, I still have footage from Thailand to edit too… I’ve been slacking!

Here’s a shot from the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud:

After Bali we went back to the US in February to visit family. We spent a month in the Bay Area of Northern California with my family and about 3 weeks in Florida visiting my brother and his girlfriend as well as Carlos’ family. We were also in town to attend our friend, Lizzy’s wedding at the end of March. It was a great trip home visiting our friends and family but we were ready for our next adventure after 2 months back in the US!

Now we’ve got the remainder of 2018 planned out!

We are currently living in Santos, Brazil in the state of São Paulo. A beautiful coastal city about 70km/40mi from the city of São Paulo.  We are loving life here and enjoying living only steps from the beach! I am very focused on learning Portuguese, a language I’ve been studying on and off for several years, while we are here. I take Portuguese language classes a few times a week and spend my weekday mornings teaching English online. Our day-to-day is quite different than it was in Thailand – we don’t work out of cafes everyday here and we certainly spend more time laying out on the beach – but our goals have remained the same. Travel and explore as much as possible while working enough to still save money!

Next month, we are flying to the southern most state of Brazil to visit our friend, Tatiana in Porto Alegre. Look out for photos – but it’s not so likely we’ll be filming much here. It’s not the best idea to walk around with cameras and phones on the street.

After Brazil we’ve got a few new destinations planned: Budapest, Hungary; Bucharest, Romania; Sofia, Bulgaria…. And then we will return “home” to Thailand!

Happy Travels! <3
